A Review of Audi Allroad engines
- February 10, 2014
There are number of diesel and petrol engines available on the Audi Allroad engine series. The range consists of Audi’s 2.0 litre four cylinder TFSI petrol engines which have power generation capability of 208bhp and 258lb ft of torque, and diesel unit has 242bhp, 369 lb-ft with 3.0 litre V6 TDI. But there is an excellent 2.0 litre four cylinder TDI that will draw mainstream UK sales. This engine is capable of developing 175bhp at 4200rpm while it returns 280 lb-ft of torque from just 1750rpm. However with this engine, a seven-speed dual clutch transmission is also offered as an option. It sprints from 0-62mph in 8.2sec and a hard push can lead it to the top speed of 134mph. Combined fuel burning up is not bad and these engines return 46.3mpg with CO2 emissions of 159g/km. In order to match up its performance, the 3.0TDI, as expected, is very similar to the 2.0-litre engine. It's the best ever of the 3.0 Litre Allroad engines, with a 0-62mph time of 6.2sec and a top speed of 149mph. The 2.0TFSI petrol engines unite good performance with a yardstick speed of 0-62mph in 6.8sec and upright efficiency with fuel economy of 39.2mpg on average and 169g/km when equipped with the manual transmission. When it is powered by a turbocharger, it also delivers power in a comparable way to the diesel engines, with a linear deliverance of its 258lb-ft of muscular torque. However, given the off road capability Allroad, the extra torque of the diesel engines is favourable.
