Audi R8 2015 to Use Ultimate Performance Engines
Audi R8 2015 to Use Ultimate Performance Engines
- March 7, 2014
Audi is giving the R8 yet another refresh and furnishing with S-Tronic twin-clutch sports transmission which delivers very smooth gear shifts and improved sprint capability. Further changes include new design detailing and all-LED lighting as standard on all models, equipment upgrades for most models and reports suggest that the 2015 Audi R8 will use its most influential version of naturally-aspirated 4.2-litre V8 engine. There are two other engine options available; a 4.0 Litre V8 engine capable of generating 560 hp power and 516 Lb-Ft of torque. However the 4.2 Litre engine is a refined version for next generation of R8 with a slightly more power generation capability. If you don’t want to own an Audi R8 with 4.0 Litre or 4.2 Litre engine and think that they are less powerful, then there is another option available which is a 5.2 Litre V10 engine with massive muscles. It will also get similar tweaks and produce 525 hp of power and muscular amount of torque of 391 Lb-Ft in the R8 V10. Audi is also offering a plus variant of V10 with 550hp and 398 Lb-Ft of torque which is an increase of 20 and 50 horsepower, respectively. Both engines will be equipped with cylinder deactivation and stop-start technology to lend a hand boost fuel economy by about 10%. The R8 was planned to go into production in 2014 but some last minute changes have seemingly pushed its introduction back. We look forward to see the new Audi R8 sometime in the 2015 with a roadster version to follow later in the same year.
