Audi SQ5 has started a new era for Audi’s SUV division. It’s the first SUV to promote the brand’s sporty conversion, and it is also the first S model with diesel engine. It is exclusively powered by a 3.0 litre V6 engine further equipped with twin-turbodiesel technology from the A6. The suspension system is significantly refined for the new SQ5 and it has a sportier design than the basic Audi Q5. The SQ5 is actually based on the Q5 and comparatively looks crouch. The high riding Alpina XD3 Bi-Turbo is also very pretty and styling of SQ5 is acquired from those high ride models to appeal the buyers. There are SQ5-branded kick plates, particular badges on the dials and imprinted lettering on the leather trim used in the interior decoration. Aside from the profoundly strengthen sports seats, the rest of the cabin is untainted Q5 which is not a bad thing at all. The SQ5 has very good seating plan which is lower than the Alpina models and give a sportier feel. There’s also a whistle from the turbochargers when you floor it, although it’s not relatively characteristic as the XD3’s acute shrill. While the 309bhp diesel is down in power by 36bhp as of the Alpina’s , and also has a shortcoming of 50Nm torque, these cars were closely harmonized on performance. A 0-60mph sprint time is just bared at 5.1 seconds that is swift, although the XD3 was also swift and taking 4.9 seconds. The combination of Quattro all-wheel drive and a slick-shifting eight-speed S tronic auto transmission meant that the SQ5 carried out its acceleration consistently. Drive Select system is an option for SQ5 for extra £220. The Audi SQ5 also emits 5g/km more CO2 than the Alpina.
